Children and adults with concerns about their hearing or their ears are welcome to the rooms.
Where possible, patients are offered minimally invasive surgery including endoscopic ear surgery but recognising that traditional surgery involving the microscope still has a role in more complex cases.
Dr North regularly performs surgery for ear infections including grommets, myringoplasty (repair of the ear drum) and mastoid surgery for infection and cholesteatoma. She also performs balloon dilatation for patients with eustachian tube dysfunction to help with their ear disease.
She has an interest in hearing loss including hearing reconstruction surgery, hearing implant surgery such as cochlear implants and implantable hearing aids.
Dr North has experience with lateral skull base surgery including tumours of the ear and skull base such as vestibular schwannoma, and works together with skull base neurosurgeons for monitoring and removal of these tumours. She sees patients with alteration in balance and facial nerve. She also sees patients with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2).
Patients can make an appointment to be seen in the rooms for assessment and discussion of any suitable surgery.
Patients who require ear surgery may be offered care at:
Westmead Private Hospital, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, Auburn and Westmead Hospitals
